GamingCast For Android Beams Retro Games To Your TV Via Chromecast

GamingCast

The $35 Google Chromecast has gradually gotten more and more useful since it first went on sale last July, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. Not only does it boast support from a whole host of video and audio streaming services, but thanks to an app called GamingCast, it can now be used to play games, too.

Available now from Google Play, GamingCast beams retro games like Snake, Pong, and Tetrominoes (Tetris) to your big screen TV via Chromecast. There are four titles to choose from — plus more to come, the developer promises — and your Android-powered smartphone or tablet acts as the controller.

As you’ll see in the video below, GamingCast works surprisingly well, with only slight lag between the controller and the display. However, each of its games is incredibly simple, so they’re not exactly going to require a lot of resources or a super speedy network.

With that said, GamingCast’s $1.99 may be a little steep for some. It may be fun for a few minutes, but the novelty is going to wear off quickly. If you’re still interested, you can follow the source link below to find GamingCast in Google Play.
