HTC Butterfly S Successor Could Be Launching Soon [Rumor]

Butterfly S Successor

A new rumor claims that HTC is already working on a successor for the now forgotten Butterfly S smartphone. This handset is believed to be carrying the model number ‘GLU2’ and could be headed towards Japanese carrier KDDI first.

There’s no clarity on whether this device will break cover along with the All New HTC One next month or launch slightly before that. It is rumored that the smartphone will pack a 5.2 inch 1080p display and a Snapdragon 801 quad core chipset. The smartphone is also rumored to come with a 5 megapixel dual camera setup on the back similar to the new HTC One.

Other expected features include a 16GB storage module, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 3,000 mAh battery. This alleged Butterfly S successor also appears to be carrying support for CDMA2000 networks, hinting at a limited global release.

The original HTC Butterfly was launched in Japan with the company subsequently launching the Droid DNA in the U.S. via Verizon and the HTC One shortly after that. We hope to learn more about this mystery smartphone in the coming days.
