Less than 24 hours after its official announcement in Poland, Samsung’s scaled-down variant of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, is available to pre-order from German online retailer NotebooksBilliger starting at €499 for the HSPA+ variant, and €529.90 for the LTE+ model, these price tags are a little steep even though the devices come unlocked with no carrier branding.

Both handsets sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive displays with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and a 3,100 mAh removable Li-Ion battery. However, the LTE-enabled Note 3 Neo is the first device on the market to feature Samsung’s latest hexa-core chip, which includes two A15 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, and four A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz. Whereas the 3G variant packs a standard 1.6GHz Cortex A7 chip.

In addition, both models ship running the latest build of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz custom user interface, which the South Korean company claims ‘is the easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks’. Though, it’s anticipated that the devices will receive the eagerly-awaited 4.4 KitKat update in the not-too-distant future.
