Samsung’s Entry-Level Galaxy Tab 3 Lite Is Super Cheap At £130

Galaxy Tab 3 7.0

Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab 3 Lite went on sale in Poland today, and it’s by far the cheapest slate the South Korean company has offered to date. It carries the same design as the original Galaxy Tab 3, but it’s priced at just 399 Polish Zloty (PLN), that’s around $130 in the U.S. and £80 in the U.K.

It’s unclear whether the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite was supposed to go on sale today, because Samsung is still yet to make its official announcement, and it seems only one retailer has started selling it. Nevertheless, we now know exactly what the device will bring.

In addition to a 7-inch display with a meager 1024×600 resolution — that’s just 170 pixels-per-inch — the device features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, but buyers shouldn’t be hoping for an Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Overall, then, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is a pretty steep downgrade from its 7-inch sibling — which isn’t exactly high-end, either. But at $130 in the U.S. and £80 in the U.K., it’s super cheap. It also carriers the regular Galaxy Tab 3’s design, so no one will know you have a budget slate.

It’s unclear when the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will go on sale in other markets, but we’ve contacted Samsung for more information and we’ll update this post as soon as we get it.
