After Motorola began rolling out its Android 4.4 KitKat updates for the Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra back in December, the company was forced to suspend its release due to widespread reports of pretty serious problems. Many users ended up with “bricked” devices after installing the release and were forced to take their handsets to Motorola for revival.

But customers will be pleased to know that Motorola has resolved those problems now and resumed its KitKat rollout to these devices.

The update comes with build number 19.5.3, and it’s exactly the same as the original Android 4.4 KitKat release. Users will find lots of user interface and design changes, including full-screen mode — as well as color Emoji, Camera improvements for better images, SMS integration in Hangouts, and updates for a number of built-in apps, including Motorola Assist, QuickOffice, and Google Photos.

You should receive a notification when the update is ready for your device, but if you don’t want to wait for that, you can search for it manually from within the software update section in the Settings app.
