HTC’s midrange Desire 601 handset is now available in red in the United Kingdom, exclusively through O2. Customers can pick up the affordable 4G smartphone online or from O2 stores throughout the country from today.

Aside from its pretty paint job, the red Desire 601 is identical to the original in terms of hardware. It has a 4.5-inch display with a 960×540 resolution, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2,100mAh battery.

Like the flagship HTC One, the Desire 601 also has front-facing BoomSound speakers, and it runs HTC’s Sense 5 user interface, which includes BlinkFeed and other nifty features like HTC Zoe.

The handset is priced at £240 ($395) on O2 Pay & Go.
