Motorola Touchless Control App Update Brings New Voice Commands & Speak Your PIN To Unlock

Motorola has updated its official Touchless Control application for devices running KitKat 4.4 on the Google Play Store. This latest version of the app allows its operators to use more Google Now voice commands without having to unlock their phone.

For those of you who are unaware, the Touchless Control application allows Droid Ultra, Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Moto X owners to interact with their smartphone without even having to touch it. Users can toggle the service by saying “OK Google Now”, and then say a command, for example, “What’s the time in Hong Kong?”, and within a matter of seconds Google will reply with the time. However, unfortunately, this latest update is not available for any of the Droid handsets at present, as none of them currently run Android 4.4 KitKat.

The full changelog for the update can be seen below:

  • More Google Now commands now work without having to unlock your phone first. Personal information such as emails, messages, and contacts are still protected by your PIN or password.
  • Say your pin to unlock your phone when using Touchless Control
  • New listening tone when you say “OK Google Now”
  • Compatible only with Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Bug fixes

At this precise moment in time, Touchless Control is only available for U.S. English, U.S. Spanish, Canadian French and Brazilian Portuguese.
