HTC has announced a new black HTC One max that makes its debut in Hong Kong today. As you might have guessed, it looks identical to the black HTC One, save for its rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and significantly larger display, and it carries the same specifications as the original One max.

So in addition to its 5.9-inch 1080p display, the handset packs a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It has a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera on its back, dual front-facing BoomSound speakers, and HTC’s latest Sense user interface with BlinkFeed.

Unlike the smaller One, the One max also boasts a microSD card slot, and a fingerprint scanner.

The black handset is exclusive to Hong Kong for now, and it’s unclear whether HTC plans to bring it to other markets. It’s likely it will, but HTC isn’t exactly the fastest at rolling out new variants to multiple markets — so who know when.
