Viber Out Gives You Low-Cost Calls To Mobiles & Landlines Worldwide

Viber-Out

Viber, the hugely popular cross-platform messaging service, now offers low-cost calls to mobile phones and landlines worldwide as part of a new service called Viber Out. It’s available on Android, iOS, and though the Viber desktop client, and it boasts call fees substantially cheaper than Skype’s.

Viber has long been a competitor to WhatsApp, Kik, and other instant messaging services, but with its VoIP capabilities, it has recently been taking on Skype as well. And today the company upped its game with Viber Out, which will let you call friends in Mexico, Canada, and Japan for less than 10ยข.

Viber Out was previously rolled out in the Philippines in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan to allow users to contact loved ones around the world for free. Now it’s available to all, and as you can see from the graphic below, it offers sizable savings over Skype.

Viber offers other advantages over Skype, too, including the ability to show your real phone number when you make a call so that your friends and family know who you are (sorry, pranksters!).

Viber also announced the rollout of some new stickers, which are now available from the Viber Sticker Market. You can check out the new character, Violet, in the video below.
