Motorola has today begun rolling out a new festive boot animation that I’m sure you’ll enjoy this Christmas, as well as a fix for the lag issue effecting the handset’s Active Display feature.

The new boot animation, which offers a cute cartoon filled with festive scenes, can be seen in the video below. It’s displayed automatically when you power up your phone — you don’t have to do anything special to activate it — and Droid-Life reports that it’s rolling out to devices in “behind-the-scenes,” so you won’t see an update, it’ll just appear.

In addition to this, there’s a fix for Active Display that makes it more responsive, and it’s being rolled out via Google Play. After upgrading to Android 4.4 KitKat, some users found that the device would hang for a second or two after unlocking. That should no longer be the case.
