ASUS Padfone Mini Leaks Ahead Of Official Unveiling

ASUS Padfone Mini

ASUS is rumored to be officially unveiling its scaled down Padfone variant, the Padfone Mini, at a dedicated event in Taiwan scheduled to take place this Wednesday, December 11. However, today a leaked press render of the device has appeared online, revealing some rather drastic design changes when compared to the original.

These leaked pictures come courtesy of @Evleaks and clearly show the 4-3-inch “mini” smartphone and its 7-inch tablet dock. Instead of mounting in a landscape orientation, like the past two generations, the Padfone Mini will now dock in portrait mode.

The smartphone itself is expected to feature a 4.3-inch Super IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 320 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Whereas it’s tablet counterpart will pack a 7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, an Intel Atom chipset, 1GB of RAM, PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Currently, there’s no word on the pricing or availability of the ASUS Padfone Mini and the specifications are just speculation at present, but we will know much more about the device, when it’s made official on Wednesday. So be sure to check back for more information as Cult of Android will be bringing you coverage of the event.
