LG Announces Two New 3D Devices Ahead Of Mobile World Congress
If you’re the type of person who actually cares about 3D, then you may be interested to know that LG has plans to launch a couple follow ups to their Optimus 3D device launched last year. LG has announced its plans to to release the Optimus 3D Cube and the Optimus 3D Max, both of which share similar specs and should be unveiled at MWC. The Optimus 3D Max will first launch in Korea in March and eventually reach other markets. The 3D Max will feature:
- Chipset: 1.2GHz Dual-Core processor (OMAP4430)
- Display: 4.3-inch 3D WVGA Display with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 2
- Memory: 8GB Internal Storage, 1GB Internal Memory
- Camera: 5MP Dual-lens
- OS: Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in future)
- Battery: 1,520 mAh
- Others: HSPA+ 21Mbps
HDMI connection 2D/3D TV/monitor up to 1080p via MHL
DNLA for wireless connection with TV/PC (3D video also supported)
NFC Full Support, LG Tag
As for the Optimud 3D Cube, it will also launch in Korea sometime in March but there has been no word of a release outside of Korea. The Optimus 3D Cube will feature:
- CPU: 1.2GHz dual-core processor
- Display: 4.3 inches wide viewing angle (IPS) LCD screen
- Camera: Dual 5MP AF, (front) 300,000 pixels ( rear) 5-megapixel
- Memory: 16GB
- Operating system: Android 2.3 version Gingerbread
- Battery: 1,520 mAh
- Size: 126.8 x 67.4 x 9.6
- Weight: 148g
- Others: NFC, LG Tag + (tag stickers 2 sheets support)
You’ll notice LG is including those NFC tags we were talking about the other day. Pretty cool to see those being included. I’m not into the whole 3D so these devices won’t be on my wish list but we’ll try to get you some video of them in action at Mobile World Congress.
