Amazon Appstore Gets Design Overhaul, Performance Improvements

Amazon-Appstore-7

If you prefer to buy your Android apps from Amazon rather than Google, then you’ll be pleased to know that the retail giant today rolled out a new Appstore client for Android that delivers a redesigned user interface and significant performance improvements. The app’s user interface is much-improved, and now looks a lot more like like Amazon’s latest Kindle Fire UI. You can still tell it’s an Amazon app, though — there’s orange everywhere — so don’t expect it to follow Google’s KitKat design language too closely.

The update also brings some substantial performance improvements. It’s much snappier, scrolling is noticeably smoother, and it seems more stable.

If you already have the Amazon Appstore installed on your Android device, you should be able to download the update from within the app. If you don’t have it already, or you’d prefer to install the APK yourself manually, you can download it via the source link below.
