T-Mobile Finally Releases Android 4.2 Jelly Bean For Sony Xperia Z

Sony-Xperia-Z

T-Mobile has finally begun rolling out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to the Sony Xperia Z, five months after it first reached the international version of the device. The update began its rollout today, November 19, and it will continue to reach handsets over-the-air until Wednesday, December 18.

It’s probably not the update Xperia Z users were hoping to see — given that Android 4.2 is over a year old now — but something is better than nothing. And let’s face it, Sony has never been the quickest when it comes to bringing new Android updates to its smartphones and tablets.

The Japanese company has confirmed, however, that the Xperia Z will get Android 4.3, the latest version of Jelly Bean, and then Android 4.4 KitKat. The former will be available “from next month,” but Sony hasn’t yet confirmed when it will start rolling out KitKat.
