It’s been a long time coming but the Sony Google TV has finally been rooted. Thanks to the guys over at GTV Hacker and a not so easy root method, you can be on your way to enjoying custom kernels full of features such as:

• Modified flash plugin with random per box flash string for Content Provider Bypass.
• Crippled update feature to prevent box from receiving automatic updates.
• Completely RW system, cache, and rootfs partitions
• Full ADB Root
• Removed signature checks on kernel / init scripts / init binary
