Sprint has officially announced that it has teamed up with Best Buy to offer all students in the United States 12 months of free talk, text and data on Sprint’s Unlimited, My Way plan. However, to qualify for this promotion, you will need to purchase a smartphone locked onto Sprint’s network from your local Best Buy store or from the retailers website.

The Unlimited, My Way plan offers students unlimited talk time, unlimited texts and 1GB of 4G data. If students choose to or accidentally surpass their 1GB data cap, they will be billed an additional 1.5 cents per MB. However, they can choose to add unlimited data to their My Way bundle for an extra $10 per month.

Sprint is also giving students an opportunity to gain additional months of free service. To do so, they’ll need to activate new devices using referral lines. For every new phone line activated on standard Unlimited, My Way or My All-in plans, the student’s account will be credited with a further 12 months of free talk, text and 1GB of data. However, the subsidiary lines must be activated during the offer’s promotional period, which is valid from now until January 4, 2014.

All students of all ages appear to be eligible for this deal, ranging from part-time, full-time or vocational students enlisted in elementary school, middle school, high school, college or university.
