Disa.im is a new app on the Play Store, currently in alpha, that aims to bring a unified messaging inbox for all the various messaging services out there. Currently, the application only supports the traditional SMS and Whatsapp, but the developer is working hard on adding Facebook Messenger integration as well.

The main advantage of using Disa.im is that it brings a single unified inbox for all your SMS’s, MMS’s and Whatsapp messages, and it works similar to how the messaging inbox of Windows Phone works.

The app has a very simple, elegant and thought-out UI and a plethora of features like using stock emojis, instead of the Android ones, ability to merge your SMS and Whatsapp conversations into one and more.

There are a few caveats with Disa, though, including the very complex process of adding a Whatsapp account. The app does not auto-import your Whatsapp messages as well, which might be a deal breaker if you have a lot of important conversations in there.

Disa.im is currently in alpha testing, so you will need to join this Google group before you can download the app from the Play Store. Make sure to uninstall the official Whatsapp client from your device, before adding it to Disa.im.
