European HTC One X Updated To Android 4.2.2 & Sense 5

Just ten days after the unexpected Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update for the HTC One X+ in Taiwan, the Happy Telephone Company has now started to roll out exactly the same over-the-air upgrade to all One X devices in Europe.

The One X was released back in May, 2012 and packs a 4.7-inch Super LCD2 IPS capacitive touchscreen, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1,800 mAh battery. So, understandably it is not the first mid-range handset that comes to mind when you think of 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 compatibility.

The full changelog for the update can be seen below:

  • HTC Sense 5 and Android 4.2.2 upgrade
  • New HTC BlinkFeed Home
  • New lock screen style: electronic gadgets
  • Added display the battery meter in the status bar options
  • New sleep mode switch
  • Quick Settings panel: use two-finger gestures with 12 sliding open the Notifications panel fast setting
  • AE / AF lock: Long tap the screen shot on the screen to start the exposure / focus lock function

It’s great to see HTC’s continued support towards its older handsets, and we hope to see other manufacturers following the telecommunication giants lead by updating their older devices, too.
