Google To Launch Its Drive Cloud Storage Service Soon

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Google is close to launching their cloud storage service to rival the likes of Dropbox. With almost every device becoming a web-enabled device, cloud-storage is becoming the go-to solution for accessing and sharing your files while on-the-go.

Drive will allow users to store their photos, videos, documents, etc., on Google’s servers for access from any web-enabled device. It will be interesting to see if or how Google ties in all of its other services like Google Music, Picasa, Docs, and YouTube. The service is supposed to be free of charge but will feature a premium option for those who need larger amounts of storage space.

No concrete time frame has been given, but according to “people familiar with the matter,” it will be coming soon.
