Google’s new Nexus 7 launched in the U.S. on July 30, and now ASUS has announced that its 7-inch tablet will be available to purchase in the U.K. directly from Google on August 28 – almost a month later.

The Nexus 7 (2013) is significantly more powerful than last year’s model, packing a 7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 3950 mAh battery, and LTE capability.

The tablet will be available to purchase from several electronics retailers, and some will offer the 7-inch slate as early as midnight on August 27.

Strangely, PC World and Curry’s are still listing the device with a September 13 release date, but we suspect this was an estimated date prior to today’s confirmation, and we assume that both retailers will update its web pages in the near future.

The Wi-Fi only models are set to retail at £199.99 for the 16GB model and £239.99 for the 32GB.
