Sony has today begun rolling out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia Tablet Z. The company has made several major changes to the slate’s user interface, such as relocating its status bar and virtual buttons, but you won’t find any groundbreaking changes to apps or features.

The update, which was first spotted by Xperia Blog, is currently reaching users with the LTE Xperia Tablet Z carrying the “SGP321” model number. It doesn’t appear to have been rolled out to the Wi-Fi only variant yet, but we expect that to happen relatively quickly.

As you can see from the screenshot above, Sony has relocated the status bar to the top of the display, and centered the virtual buttons along the bottom. The company has also added a quick settings pull-down, like that in its Xperia smartphone lineup.

There don’t appear to be any significant changes to the tablet’s built-in apps or features, but if you spot anything, be sure to let us know in the comments.
