The latest rumor to add to the hoard of Nexus 2 7″ related speculation is that the device will go on sale at the popular worldwide independent retailer, Staples, starting July 31. That’s a day after it is due to go on sale at Best Buy.

An anonymous source leaked a memo sent out to all Staples employees, notifying them that inventory would start to arrive in selected stores as early as next week, but will be kept under wraps until the last day of the month.

The tipster also added that any employee caught selling a new Nexus 7 before the sales embargo is lifted, will be punished accordingly, including the possibility of immediate termination.

To confirm many of the rumours we have already seen, the official memo states that the Nexus 2 7″ will feature “superior specifications,” indicating the possibilities of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1080p HD display. The device will also ship running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The leak also revealed that the device will pack other features that the team at Staples HQ cannot disclose to their sales representatives at this point, so for now, these features will remain a mystery.
