Carphone Warehouse, one of the largest mobile retailers in the U.K., has removed the black Nexus 4 from its website, a day after the white variant sold out on Google Play. The retailer didn’t provide an ‘out of stock’ notice — the device just simply vanished.

The Nexus 4 was only released back in November 2012 and is now sadly regarded as a senior citizen, and the limited edition white Nexus 4 was discontinued yesterday. Carphone Warehouse is far from the only retailer to carry the Nexus 4 in the U.K., but it was one of the first to list the device, and continued to have stock sporadically when Google itself struggled to process orders. So why has the Carphone Warehouse Group PLC abandoned the Nexus 4?

We contacted a Carphone Warehouse representative to try and find out the reasoning behind the removal of the Nexus 4 from the retailers spectrum of devices and are currently awaiting a response, we will be sure to let you know if, or when, we hear something back.

We have to face the facts, though, this may be the beginning of the end for Google’s beloved Nexus 4.

Be sure to check back to find out what Carphone Warehouse had to say on the matter.
