Cinemagram was the Instagram of video before there was Vine. The app allows you to create what are essentially animated GIFs and share them with followers. Up until now, Cinemagram has been iOS-only, but now it is available for Android devices in Google Play.

Cinemagraphs, or “cines,” are four seconds long, and they can be shared to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. Instagram-like filters can be applied to give each GIF a unique look. Hashtags, categories, likes, reposts, and more make the app a full-fledged social network.

The community behind Cinemagram is very passionate and creative, but the app has never been able to attract a formidable user base that compares to the likes of Instagram. Until Vine is available on Android, Cinemagram is the best there is for making and sharing GIFs.
