A 32GB Nexus 7? Yes, Please! How About A Samsung Nexus 2? Yes, Yes, Please!

Before you go getting too excited, none of this has been confirmed, however, these names did pop up in the inventory system of British retailer Carphone Warehouse. While we have no idea what a Nexus 2 would or could be, the 32GB Nexus 7 sounds right up my alley.

I was just complaining the other day about how Google’s 25 Billion App Downloads celebration filled up my 16GB Nexus 7 and actually left me having to choose which apps to keep and which apps to remove. I definitely don’t like having to sacrifice apps I would otherwise have on my device just because of lack of storage. It’s been my biggest complaint against OEMs not including microSD and I believe it’s completely contradictory to the whole “Play Store” business model. I can’t very well Play consume content if there’s nowhere for me to put it.

When I caught wind of a 32GB Nexus 7, I was excited to say the least. I’m really hoping a 32GB model is on its way. 8GB is an absolute joke and 16GB just isn’t cutting it now that mobile games are pushing gigabytes. What will a larger capacity Nexus 7 mean for pricing? If we follow the current pricing model, the next step up would be either $299 or $349 — but at those prices, won’t Google be straying away from what attracted consumers in the first place?

Personally, I don’t think they can go any higher than $299. I’d be all over a $299 32GB Nexus 7, however, at $349 I’d probably deal with my 16GB and the aggravation of shuffling around apps.

We’ll just have to wait to see what comes of this discovery, but one thing is for sure — I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
