Android had a pretty big day today. Hugo Barra, Android’s Director of Product Management, announced over Google+ that there are now over 500 million active Android devices globally, with over 1.3 million new activations per day! That number is simply staggering! You could give every single citizen in North America one of those activated devices and there would still be millions left over.

Kudos to Google and the Android team. Kudos to the Android community and all of its users. It’s only been 4 years, and look how far Android has come. The future is bright, the future is green, the future is Android.
