Negri Electronics Taking Pre-Orders For The Galaxy Note 10.1, Purportedly Shipping Out Today

Yesterday, U.S. electronics retailer, Negri Electronics, tweeted a picture of a freshly unboxed Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with the message “Ships 8/3 #BeforeFirst.” The message wasn’t very specific and sent confused Android fans clamoring about looking for answers. A venture over to the Negri site reveals they, in fact, have the yet to be officially announced Galaxy Note 10.1 up for pre-order. Unlike their tweet, the site makes no mention of the August 3rd shipping date.

We’re not sure whether or not they will actually begin shipping these out today, but given we haven’t yet received an official announcement from Samsung, we highly doubt it. Although the ridiculously high pre-order price of $749.50 does seem to suggest the possibility of a first look.

The version Negri is touting on their website happens to have HSPA connectivity as well as featuring:

  • 10.1-inch PLS TFT display has a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels
  • 1.4Ghz Quad Core Exynos 4412 (the same as in the Galaxy S III)
  • 16 GB storage
  • 2 GB RAM
  • microSD, up to 32 GB
  • 5 MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, and a 2MP front-facing shooter.
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • Wacom-powered “S Pen.”
  • And more

If you’ve got the cash to plop down on a possible first look at Samsung’s 10.1 Galaxy Note, then hit up the source link below and tell us how it goes. However, at that price, I’m expecting the majority of consumers to pass. What do you think?
