Universal Search To Return To The International Samsung Galaxy S III After Being “Inadvertently” Removed

When the international Samsung Galaxy S III received an update that removed the universal search feature, everyone assumed it was done as a precautionary measure resulting from the ongoing legal battles here in the US. Turns out is was “inadvertently” removed and Samsung has promised to bring it back in a few days with an update.

“The most recent software upgrade for the Galaxy S III in the UK included the inadvertent removal of the universal search function. Samsung will provide the correct software upgrade within the next few days.”

Looks like you GT-i9300 owners will get to hold onto the universal search feature for a bit longer — that is, until Apple decides to sue Samsung in Europe.

Unfortunately the feature has long been stripped from us here in the US, and I’m afraid it looks like it will remain that way. I’m fairly confident we’ll be able to live without it. In fact, has anyone even realized it was gone?
