Samsung is rolling out a small but important fix for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to fix a frustrating RAM issue reported by a significant number of users. You can expect the 138MB release to reach your handset over-the-air very soon.

The problem, which prevented data from being purged from the RAM efficiently, could have a big impact on performance and cause the otherwise incredibly snappy Galaxy S6 and S6 edge to become slow and unstable.

Many users have found that apps and browser tabs are closed too aggressively — which means that they have to be reloaded frequently when multitasking — and others would simply crash soon after they are opened. The issue could also have an impact on battery life.

Fortunately, the issue has been eliminated with Samsung’s latest software update, which comes with build number G920FXXU1AODG. It’s already reaching users in parts of Europe, but it should quickly make its way to other markets over the coming days and weeks.

If you’re a Galaxy S6 or S6 edge owner, then, be on the lookout for this one — you’ll want to install it as soon as you can.
