Android 5.0 Lollipop is edging closer to release for Verizon subscribers with an HTC One M8, but it’s still going to be a few weeks before it begins its rollout. HTC has confirmed that the software is “in the lab” and it expects it to be ready in early March.

HTC has been working quickly to bring Lollipop to users with a One series handset, but it did warn us in late January that it had missed the 90-day update deadline it had originally promised when Lollipop was first announced by Google.

But for those with a One M8 on Verizon, the wait is almost over.

HTC Product Manager Mo Versi confirmed on Twitter that its Lollipop update for Verizon users is “in the lab,” and that the company is “expecting approval first week of March.”

Once it has that approval, HTC can begin rolling the update out to its customers. As we’ve seen with its previous Lollipop updates, the company is promptly releasing Android 5.0 as soon as approval is received, so you should be running it by mid-March at the latest.
