Get your game on with a PS4 controller on the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

Sony-PlayStation-DUALSHOCK-4-Xperia-support

Console gamers will tell you that as fun as mobile games built for touchscreens can be, everything’s better with physical buttons and sticks. Sony Xperia T2 Ultra owners are fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds, because their handsets will be compatible with the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller.

Okay, maybe puzzle games and certain strategy titles are better with a touchscreen — but racers, sports simulators, shooters, and more are better with physical controls. I love first-person shooters, and I do enjoy titles like Modern Combat, but they’re nowhere near as enjoyable as their console counterparts, because they’re difficult to play without a real gamepad.

And one of the best gamepads money can buy right now is Sony’s DualShock 4 controller, a much-improved version of the DualShock 3. Until now, it has been compatible only with the PlayStation 4, but Sony looks set to change that soon by adding support for the Xperia T2 Ultra — and possibly other Xperia Play devices.

Sony teased the change in a photo published on Twitter, which shows an Xperia T2 Ultra being controlled by a DualShock 4 controller — but the Japanese company is yet to confirm when support will be available, or if it will come to other devices. Presumably, users will get a small software update adding DualShock compatibility.

Here’s to hoping we hear more soon.
