How to convert a regular HTC One (M8) into a Harman Kardon edition

One-M8-front

A couple of days ago, Sprint and HTC unveiled a special Harman Kardon edition of the HTC One (M8) aimed at audiophiles that delivers better music quality and offers native FLAC playback support.

Now, thanks to the hard work of developer baadnewz, owners of the normal HTC One (M8) can also enjoy the Clari-Fi and LiveStage feature available on the Harman Kardon-edition One.

The former feature helps in bringing back the highs and lows that is usually lost while listening to streaming music while the latter helps in providing an enhanced virtual surround sound effect. M8 users who have already installed this mod report that there is a noticeable improvement in sound quality while listening to music via earphones.

The only thing that this mod does not bring is the ability to natively playback FLAC files but considering that most of the players in the Play Store support it, this should not really be an issue. Installing the mod requires root access with a custom recovery installed though, which might be a bummer for many.

If you already fulfill the requirements above, head over to this XDA thread for the installation instructions. If not, you can follow this rooting guide first before heading over to install the mod.
