Samsung has teamed up with Amazon to bring its smartphone and tablet owners a custom “Kindle for Samsung” app. Available worldwide to those with a Galaxy device running Android 4.0 and above, the app will offer 12 free books every year through an exclusive Samsung Book Deals promotion.

Kindle for Samsung is very similar to the regular Kindle app for Android, and it offers almost exactly the same set of features — including things like Whispersync, Time to Read, and more. It also offers the same selection of books, magazines, and newspapers, with over 500,000 titles to choose from.

The custom app sports a new look that better suits Samsung’s latest TouchWiz user interface, but the biggest difference between the two is the Samsung Book Deals promotion, which is exclusive to Samsung users.

It offers 12 free eBooks every year to each Kindle for Samsung customer, who has the opportunity to choose one of four titles every month from “a wide selection of prominent titles.” That’s certainly a big incentive for Samsung users to use the new custom Kindle app.

Kindle for Samsung is available now in over 90 countries, and it can be downloaded from the Samsung Apps marketplace on Galaxy devices running Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, or KitKat.
