AT&T Reveals Hardware Specifications Of The ASUS Padfone X

AT&T Padfone X

The AT&T Padfone X has been quite a mystery even though it was officially announced back in early January. However, the carrier has now made an effort to demystify certain aspects of this smartphone + tablet hybrid by posting specifications of the device.

AT&T has confirmed that the Padfone X will sport a 5 inch 1080p display, coupled by a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 SoC and a 13-megapixel camera. It will also feature 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone is expected to support AT&T’s LTE-A networks which is only available in Chicago at the moment.

The tablet dock on the other hand comes with a 9 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a dedicated 1-megapixel front facing camera for video calls on the big screen. The smartphone will come with a 2,300 mAh battery while the tablet dock packs a 4,990 mAh battery of its own.

Unfortunately, AT&T failed to spill details on the availability and pricing of the Padfone X. Previous reports have suggested a Q2 2014 release, so we might get to hear about it soon.
