Earlier today, we revealed that Samsung is expected to unveil its flagship smartphone of 2014, the Galaxy S5, in London sometime around mid-March, and not at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month as previously rumored. Now a Samsung-orientated publication has posted a list of ‘confirmed’ leaked specifications on the internet stating some of the impressive internals the device is purported to pack.

SamMobile claims that the Galaxy S5 will ship with a 5.25-inch Quad HD display comprising of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization, as well as two processors: a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and an eight-core Samsung Exynos 6 chipset.

With regards to design, it is believed that the S5 will be available in two models — one metal and one plastic. The aluminium variant of the device is expected to go on sale for around €800 ($1,092), whereas the plastic-bodied version should be available to purchase for roughly €650 ($887).

Furthermore, the smartphone will ship running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz custom user interface plastered over the top, which, according to the South Korean company, ‘is the easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks.’

In addition to unveiling the Galaxy S5 in March, it’s speculated that Samsung is also in the midst of preparing to launch the Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom variants later this year, which are both expected to feature Super AMOLED displays, quad-core processors and run Android 4.4 straight out of the box.

As with all leaks and rumors, we have to take these ‘confirmed’ specifications with a pinch of salt until Samsung provides us with some solid evidence with regards to what it has in store for its next flagship smartphone.
