Samsung has reportedly begun preparing its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II. All three are expected to make their way into public hands before the end of the year, but the Galaxy S4 update is likely to arrive first with a rumored October release date.

“We expect that Samsung will update the Galaxy S4 in October,” SamMobile reports, while the Galaxy S III release could arrive around the end of October or early November. As for the Galaxy Note II, that’s expected to get Android 4.3 in late November or early December.

SamMobile suggests Samsung wants to give the new Galaxy Note III “a couple of exclusive months” with Android 4.3 before older devices receive the same software features. The ploy could encourage those with handsets like the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II to upgrade to its latest phablet early.

While Android 4.3 isn’t massively different to Android 4.2.2 on the surface, those with Samsung devices will notice the upgrade more than most due to the changes and improvements Samsung has made to its own TouchWiz user interface. The update packs all kinds of new features, some of which made their debut on the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note III.

Samsung is also said to be planning similar updates for its Galaxy Mega series of smartphones.
