Nook For Android Now Supports HD Magazines On Tablets

Nook-Android

The official Nook app for Android has been updated with support for high resolution magazines on tablets with 1280×720 displays or greater. The update comes more than three months after HD magazines came to the iPad, but it’s better late than never.

In addition to adding HD magazines, with the ability to enlarge illustrations to view them in more detail, this release also introduces popular titles like SELF, Wired, Glamour, Vanity Fair, and GQ.

It also takes advantage of Android’s assistive touch technology, including screen magnification and TalkBack, to bring magazines to blind and “low vision” users. You’ll need Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher to take advantage of this, however.

Finally, the release brings some bug fixes, and Nook says some users may have to sign out of the app and then sign back in again to complete the upgrade.

You can download the latest Nook release from Google Play now.
