Nexus 7 Dock To Ship Within Two Weeks, Priced At $39.99 [Rumor]

Asus is finally gearing up to launch its Nexus 7 tablet dock, six months after the $199 slate launched in the United States. It’s set to begin shipping “within two weeks,” according to a source, and it’s expected to cost $39.99. Unless you live in the United Kingdom, where it’ll cost a whopping £79 (approx. $126).

The Verge reports:

The Verge has learned through a reliable source that the company plans to ship the official accessory within two weeks for $39.99 here in the US. That’s an incredible pricing disparity when compared to the UK, where Asus plans to charge £79 (approx. $126) for the dock.

Yeah, us Brits get the rough end of the deal again. At £79, the dock is almost half the price of the Nexus 7 in the U.K. And some might say it isn’t worth it — after all, it doesn’t exactly have many features. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack, a mini USB port for charging, and that’s it.

If you want one anyway, look out for it in the coming weeks.
