Are you willing to die with your boots on? Do you know the number of the beast? If so, you’ll want to keep an eye on this upcoming mobile game from heavy metal band extraordinaire, Iron Maiden.

In conjunction with Roadhouse Interactive and 50cc Games, the legends of metal are putting together a free-to-play role-playing game, due out this summer, on iOS and Android. It’s called Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast (naturally), and will apparently include characters from the long history of Iron Maiden album art, as well as a soundtrack that has previously unheard live recordings from the monsters of rock.

You’ll take on the role of Eddie – the zombified Iron Maiden mascot who rules the art on a fair number of album covers since the band’s 1980 debut. You’ll explore new worlds based on Iron Maiden mythology, travel through time, and battle a cast of weird characters pulled from the band’s artwork.

The live recordings for the soundtrack were updated for the mobile game under the supervision of founding member and bassist, Steve Harris.

“We know many of our fans are gamers and we have long thought that Eddie and Maiden’s music and imagery would be perfect for this,” said Harris in a statement. “It’s something we have been looking at revisiting since Ed Hunter way back in 1999. Now in 2016 it can all be done on a smartphone so it makes it even more accessible for Maiden fans everywhere and also all the gamers out there.”

Iron Maiden continues to rock hard with its latest album, The Book of Souls, releasing in September of last year to hit the number one spot in over 40 countries. The band plans to hit the tour circuit this year, making the mobile game a must-have for fans of the band.

Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast will be ready for your nimble fingers later this year on iOS and Android, and you can keep up on the details with a quick email form on the game’s website.
