Android 4.4.4_r2 update for the Nexus 5 rolling out in selected parts of the world

KitKat-big

Google has started rolling out a minor Android 4.4.4 (KitKat MR 2.2) update for the Nexus 5 in selected regions of the world. The update does not include any major or even minor visual or under-the-hood changes and only contains some carrier compatibility and other network related fixes.

The OTA update is limited only to Australia, New Zealand and India, and bumps the Android build number to KTU84Q. There is also a new radio included in the update.

Google has already uploaded the factory image on its developers website but strictly says that the Android 4.4.4_r2 release is for “ 2Degrees/NZ, Telsta/AUS and India ONLY”. If you don’t live in these countries, you will not be entitled to get this OTA update. Also, don’t bother flashing the factory image file since it is not meant for your region and may lead to some network related issues.

If you notice any other changes in this update, do drop in a comment and let us know.
