A report has appeared online disclosing that HTC is currently in the process of designing its first ever smartwatch, with the name One Wear, as a rival to Motorola’s upcoming Moto 360. The wearable piece of technology was recently demoed at a private manufacturers event and is scheduled to hit the shelves somewhere around late August to early September.

According to a Taiwanese source at TK Tech News, One Wear will be available in a variety of different colorways and materials, including a ‘polycarbonate’ shell and a ‘metal’ watch face. Like the Moto 360, the unit is rumored to have a circular body and feature a QHD multi-touch display with a battery life of approximately 24 hours.

There’s still a way to go until One Wear’s speculated unveiling, but we’re extremely excited to see just how this story develops. If HTC’s track record for leaks is anything to go by, it looks like we could be seeing this watch a lot sooner than the multinational company anticipate.
