Amazon Reopens Pre-Orders for ASUS Transformer Prime, Free One-Day Shipping Inlcuded

One of the most highly anticipated Android tablets of the year, the ASUS Transformer Prime, went up for pre-order on Amazon last month. Amazon quickly sold out and soon began canceling some customers’ orders. Eventually the ASUS Transformer Prime completely disappeared from Amazon’s site never to be seen or heard of again — that is, until today. Amazon has reopened pre-orders for all four variants of the ASUS Transformer Prime and to make amends with customers who were left in the dark, they are also offering 1-day free shipping along with a $10 credit (only some customers are reporting the credit).

The ASUS Transformer Prime is scheduled to be released some time this week and will be the first quad-core Tegra 3 device to hit the market. If you need a refresher on specs, take a look and try not to drool all over your keyboard:

  • 10.1-inch SuperIPS + display with Gorilla Glass
  • 1.3GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 Processor with 12-core GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 32GB or 64GB internal storage with microSD card slot
  • microHDMI port
  • 8MP F2.4 rear shooter with continuous flash for video recording, 1.2MP front camera

  • 586g (1.29 lbs.)
  • 12 hour battery life playing 720p video, 18 hours with keyboard dock
  • Metallic spun finish
  • Android 3.2.1 – will be updated to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
