Motorola releases new Moto Alert app

Following the announcement of its latest budget friendly Android-powered smartphone earlier today, Motorola just pushed a new, exclusive application to the Play Store called Moto Alert, which is described as an emergency tracker that ‘alert’s people important to you when you need them.’

Once Moto Alert has been opened on your phone, periodic notifications consisting of your location will then be pushed to specific people that you selected when you configured the app.

However, Alert doesn’t only have to be used in the event of an emergency. It can also be used in everyday life to improve productivity. You can determine Home, Work and School locations, which automatically alert predetermined people when you arrive or leave. That’s pretty useful if you have a child who makes their own way to school and you want to find out when they arrive.

At this precise moment in time, Alert appears to be a Moto E exclusive, but as with any other Motorola application, compatibility should be expanded to the Moto X, Moto G, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra in the not-too-distant future.

So if you own the new Moto E – hit the link below to download the application free of charge directly from the Play Store.
