Motorola is going to unveil its next smartphone on May 13

After disrupting the market with the Moto G and Moto X last year, Motorola is all set to announce its first smartphone this year. The company has sent out invites for an event to be held on May 13th in London.

Don’t get all excited about a Moto X successor though. The invite image states that the smartphone is “made to last” and “priced for all” — a clear indication that it is going to be a low-end handset.

It is very much possible that Motorola unveils the long rumoured Moto E at this event or maybe we will see the company release an LTE enabled successor of the Moto G, even though it might be a bit too early for that to happen.

Motorola has already disrupted the low-end market with the Moto G that went on to become the company’s highest selling smartphone within a few months of its release. It will be interesting to see if Motorola manages to repeat that same level of success with another low-end handset that is rumoured to be priced even lower than Moto G.

If you are eagerly waiting for the Moto X successor though, keep waiting. The company has already announced it will announce its successor towards the end of the summer.
