Late last year, Sony started selling its first Google Play edition device — the Sony Z Ultra on the U.S Play Store. The device was similar to the regular Xperia Z Ultra that was sold by Sony in rest of the world, except for the fact that it ran bone stock Android.

Sony does not sell most of its devices in the United States so the Google Play edition Z Ultra is a great way of getting your hands on one of Sony’s flagship devices from last year. Today, Sony is making this deal even more tempting by giving the device a substantial price cut of $200.

This means you can now grab the GPe Sony Z Ultra for only $449 — an excellent deal for the specs it sports. This includes a 6.44-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP Exmor R camera, LTE connectivity, IP58 certified design and a 3000mAh battery. The only notable bummer is the lack of a LED flash for the camera but then no device is perfect.

On the software side, you will be getting the absolute latest version of Android — KitKat — along with the promise of quick and timely updates, just like any other Nexus device.

So, what are you waiting for? Head over to the Google Play Store to get your hands on the Xperia Z Ultra.
