Display Of The HTC One (M8) Reportedly Has The Best Touch Response Time

HTC One M8

According to a new finding from a French site, the HTC One (M8) has the best touch latency ever recorded on a smartphone so far and by a fair distance. During the tests which didn’t include newer flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the Sony Xperia Z2, the new HTC One was revealed to have a touch response time of 46ms.

Touch latency on a smartphone isn’t one of the most discussed features, yet is one of the most crucial aspects of a device which affects usability to a great deal. In comparison to the HTC One (M8), the display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a response time of 67ms while the LG G2 features a 110ms.

HTC has done a lot of work with the display of the new HTC One, as is evident from this new revelation. Microsoft Research has concluded that the best displays will be the ones that offer 1-20ms response times, but that seems to be far off at the moment.

It will be interesting to see how the M8 fares in comparison to the newer crop of smartphones from Sony and Samsung.
