Xiaomi Sells 100,000 Units Of The Redmi Note Within 34 Minutes
Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has reportedly sold over 100,000 units of its ultra-affordable Redmi Note handset within 34 minutes. While this is not a major feat in comparison to the first gen Redmi, which sold the same amount within four minutes, it’s still something noteworthy for the manufacturer, at least by international standards.
With a starting price of 799 CNY or $130, the Redmi Note was expected to be a mass hit during launch. The slightly more powerful variant of the Redmi Note retails for 999 CNY ($160), which isn’t a whole lot either for a phablet.
The top end Xiaomi Note handset features a 5.5 inch OGS display, a 1.7 GHz octa core MediaTek chipset, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Powering the device is a massive 3,200 mAh battery.
The company has announced that the handset will eventually make its way to global markets as well, so the company can expect the demand to substantially increase when that happens. Xiaomi is one of the most popular Chinese manufacturers in the market today, so it is no surprise that its latest flagship is doing so well.
