Sony Xperia M2 Goes Up For Pre-Order In The UK

Xperia M2

With all the talk about Sony’s high end smartphones such as the Xperia Z2, it’s easy to forget about the midrange offerings. One such device is the Xperia M2 which has just gone up for pre-order in the UK carrying a price tag of £225 unlocked and off contract. The smartphone will also go on sale in Europe and Asian markets in the coming days.

On the hardware front, the Xperia M2 comes with a 4.8 inch display packing a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It also features a quad core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for storage expansion and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Knowing Sony’s plans to keep most of its new devices updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, we’re guessing the Xperia M2 will get an update soon as well. The handset also sports 4G connectivity which is quite rare for a low cost device.

Local retailer Clove is charging £228 for the smartphone with a May time launch, while Amazon has priced the device at £240 with a May release as well. Unlocked Mobile however is offering the smartphone for £225 with stocks expected to arrive on April 30, which appears to be the best option right now.
