CyanogenMod 11 Nightly Builds For Xperia Z1 Compact Now Available

Sony-Xperia-Z1-Compact-1

The CyanogenMod team has started rolling out nightly builds for Sony’s latest smartphone — the Xperia Z1 Compact. Being a ‘nightly’ build, they are going be filled with new features, bug fixes and even more bugs.

Sony is expected to roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Xperia Z1 Compact sometime in Q2 of this year. If the wait for KitKat seems too long, you can always unlock the bootloader of your handset and install CyanogenMod 11, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The initial builds do have a few teething problems including slight lag on animations and slow startup of the camera app. However, knowing the CM team, it is just a matter of time before these bugs are squashed as well.

Make sure to unlock the bootloader and root your Xperia Z1 Compact before you proceed with installing CyanogenMod on it. You can find the download links of the latest nightly build here.
