OnePlus One To Feature A 13MP Camera With F/2.0 Aperture & “Image Stabilization Plus”

OnePlus One

To create hype around their product, OnePlus has been slowly and steadily revealing new features about their upcoming handset to the public. Up until now, it has revealed that the handset would come with a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5.5-inch 1080p display inside the body of a 5-inch device and a beefy 3100mAh battery.

Today, the company has revealed the specifications of the camera sensor that they would be using on their OnePlus One handset.

The handset would use Sony’s latest IMX214 camera sensor that boasts of a 13MP BSI CMOS sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. To overcome the blurring on the edges caused by such a large aperture, OnePlus has added a unique six-lens optics to avoid any kind of distortion whilst also improving the image quality and color reproduction.

Instead of OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), the handset will come with “Image Stabilization Plus (IS+)” to help reduce noise and shakiness in photos and videos by using the data received from other sensors on the device like the gyroscope and accelerometer. It will also be capable of recording videos in 4K resolution along with slow-mo videos at 720p@120fps.

The company has also decided to go with a 5MP front-facing camera, which should be adequate for all your selfies and video calling needs. While the camera specs of the OnePlus One do look top-notch, keep in mind that it is the overall package that needs to come together for the device to deliver outstanding image quality.
